Default Comic book drawing club here in Cebu?

Sukol Mo SUCKS because of their FOUNDING MEMBERS, 3 to be exact.

One is a pedoartist who enjoys drawing kiddie hentais,
another is a powerhungry dictator who can decide whether you're fit to join the club or not and often talks crap behind you're back.
And lastly one who claims he's already on the professional level by wasting a lot of good inks, he even claims he was contacted by marvel or DC.

Oh yeah, as for the seminar, I heard that the corrupt dictator plans to charge ya this time for any seminar they offer.

POPCORN is no different, they just do it for the money
and they don't pay ya $#^%.

Interesting a lot of critics about Sukol Mo is in this blog. To be honest I'm one of the original founding members of the said group. Aside from the three founding members that was described here, you might say that I'm the fourth one. I'm basically the one that bring everyone together. I never wanted the group to be called that way in the first place. I prefered a much more catchy way. I'm not very proud with Sukol Mo and what it had become anyway. So I left and move on with my life. Improving myself and my skills thus outgrowing Sukol Mo.

--- adto ta Club Harem for educational purposes.. sponsora ko. ---

If I were single, I'd probably go there and befriend one or two
that could model for us for a low price. However, I don't think
my wife would believe me if I say I went there for "art's sake."

I think I'll follow Glenn Fabry's style. I'll buy a cheap
porn video and freeze the frame and grab a screenshot. I hope
I don't get motion blurs.

But your suggestion made me smile, zerk.

--- post your drawing already ---

Man, I wouldn't have given my sketchpad to my 4 year old daughter if
I knew about istorya.net's Arts and Literature forum.

I'll try to draw one or two figure and find a place where I can
scan them.

--- SuKoL mo ---

I don't think we needed to know the details about the break up.
I'm sure the people who learned from them appreciated SuKoL mo.

--- cge lang, kung ganahan mo patudlo anang anime style, anhi lang mo nako ---

vanceloma, free? (joke only)

--- Cebu ready for another comic drawing club? ---

Anyway, who's really interested to start one? I think it's best to
start small with a group of people who can commit at least a few hours
a week to it. Sunday or nights during weekdays would be the best time
for me as Saturday's my wife's day off.

I'd really like to learn from the pros like you guys.

By the way, I'm not that good in drawing but I'm a fairly good web developer
(not designer mind you -- Don't ask me to design a page using Photoshop or
Flash -- I handcode HTML and create dynamic pages using PHP/MySQL/Smarty).

I can probably put up a decent site where you can
showcase your work but naa naman DevianArt so no need siguro.

That is true. That's why I plan to buy cheap xxx flicks somewhere in
downtown next week. I'll see if Glenn Fabry's style would work for
me too.

I'll be going to Manila tomorrow and will probably be back next Sunday.
I'll see you when I get back. I'll pm you my cellphone number. Can
you pm me yours too?

I wonder how many are really interested to join? Would 4 to 5 people
be a good number to start with?

I'll draw some figures in Manila so you can see some "amateur" work
when I get back

4 to 5 would be a good number to start. wala sab lami kun kita ra duha. we should get carlo borromeo to join... he's very knowledgable in sequential arts. as a writer i know he has a lot to share. IanR is a also a very talented artist and digital colorist.... you can learn a lot from him. I think both of them got into the international comic scene.

Default Goal?

Hi zerk,

Gulp. These guys sound like heavy hitters. I think I'd feel like a 2nd
rate superhero visiting the JLA's Watchtower.

My personal goal is to draw line art (similar to the recent link I've
shown you) because I want to use the skill in Flash illustrations. I don't
like to draw comic books per se but would like to use the skills I'd
learn to better draw in Flash (so I don't really need to draw realistic
hair, or very fine textures). I'll bring a kiddie find-me book by Kris
Sisson so you'll get an idea of what kind of art I would really like to
learn.

While I may not be able to reach the level of IanR, I'm very good at
organizing things (I've organized our company's CounterStrike
tournament among other things). One of the key success factors in
any organization is having a goal. While I have my own above, I think
a noble goal would be to develop people who have a passion for comic
book art. I'm not sure how we'd finance but I think if people are really
passionate, they'll agree to KKB (kanya kanyang bayad -- supplies,
share in renting space where we can have our lessons, etc.)

I just hope we don't become like the organization that got flamed in
this thread.

Anyway, our house in San Juan, Metro Manila has internet access. I
can continue chatting with you until we meet sometime next, next
week.

Cge bai.
