@Inahime: Sadly, no drawing contest took place. There were only suede, preloader, zerk, santini, and myself. vemp arrived late but I'm guessing he was able to meet some of the guys after I've left. I think the date was ill-timed (after payday).

checked out Beastboy Joe. People are even sharing it on RS and Megaupload. I don't know how the author feels about this, but IMHO it only means he's getting famous, if he isn't already.

I don't feel bad about Beastboy Joe being shared on the net, especially since I scanned it myself for exposure. I also had some friends in Manila and abroad who wanted to read and tear it apart with reviews, so that really convinced me to scan it. If I ever get to formally publish Beastboy Joe, it will be with a new title and a few changes to the details. I'll probably redraw the whole thing. Think of what you read as a draft.

yeah, I also feel exposure's always a good thing. I know of some indie filmakers who encourage others to "pirate" their work.

So the reviewers are actually people you know?

I don't want to toot JA's horn but I knew the kid had potential when I first saw his work. I haven't interviewed JA about his motivation for wanting to pursue a career in the comic book industry but the kid has passion about comic books both as a reader and an artist. It isn't just a hobby for him or something he uses to past time by. It's like his on a mission or something. I dunno, it's kind of hard to explain if you haven't met him so that's why you need to attend the next meeting and hear him talk. He'll talk your ears off.

As for me, he's just a kid brother I never had and that's why I always poke jokes at him and I really wish him success and I hope that when he does find what he's looking for he doesn't become an arrogant bastiche who believes himself to be a god like T.., oops, nuff said.

Well... I'm already a bastich. Hahaha. As for arrogant.... I'll try never to become intolerably arrogant... like Suede for instance. He's just unbelievably arrogant. I think it's the rock star hair.

The reviewers were people I know, but not necessarily close friends. Which is why I trusted their opinions, because they had no reason to be nice to me or anything. Some people on this thread also gave me some feedback. Cmontoya and Zerk gave me some very insightful... insights. Vemp, Suede (that ****er), and Santini also tell me when what I do looks like shit, that's why we're friends. I think cmontoya also shared it with some Manila artists, but I can't seem to find their responses anymore.
