It was not he whole kingdom. it was the people inside his palace the loyal ones including 8 heroes, two Guards, two archers, two rangers and two mages. The pieces was placed on a magical chest, by a loyal pawn. So it would look like just an ordinary gameboard.

Thanks bro.
I just hope I would not get the attention of envious souls here.

Hoping that a thousand years from now, a thousand or more chess pieces will end up in a museum somewhere, and someone with oh such great interest with a pile age old chess pieces will "accidentally" undo the spell. A one way spell? Is that it? Mage is like "OPPS I FORGET, SO I'LL WAIT FOR CHESS NERD IN MUSUEM TO FIX IT, K? LOL"
Don't judge my idea yet bro.

Powerchess already won third prize as most outstanding creative research in 2001 during Filipino Invention Exposition. It is an award winning original filipino board game.

Anyway, it was not the whole kingdom that were saved.
They were the only survivor(powerchess pieces).
Everyone else were slaughtered.
In this story the mage only saved 8 heroes, king and queen with the bishops, knights and rooks (chariot riders) and 8 loyal pawns out of nine.
the nineth pawn took care of the "powerchest".
but since T in their language looks like slanted S, when the T was loose it slanted and the whole sign read like powerchess.

LOL.

I prefer the Power Girl powerchest as well.

Moving on...

@zerk

The Spirit is already getting negative reaction based on the trailers alone. It's so Sin City-fied that everyone hates it. Even comic creators who are fans of the original Will Eisner book. I haven't read the Spirit comics for myself, so I don't really know what the big fuss is. But I didn't like the first Sin City movie.

@Zerk

Did you hear that rumor that Bob Hoskins is supposed to play the Penguin in Nolan's third Batman daw? And Scarecrow was supposed to help the Joker invent his laughing gas? Pisses me off that they can't go down that road anymore. Well... maybe they still can... but no one will ever be able to play it the way Ledger did.

Hoskins is okay for me pero what do you think kng si John Rhys Davis (did i spell that right) nway the joker is like the Godfather of all the batman villains...it'll be tough looking for another joker actor to take ledger's place..if i was the boss i'd, as much as i can tie in either the joker or two face in the movie franchise i mean they may not be the main villain but i think they should be the main cause or somehow has something to do with the new bat-villain cropping up in Gotham..just like what the joker did to harvey dent..nway that's just me..by the way the new bat movie rocks jd!!!..it's just too bad nga ang mob took the backseat as one of the major ingredients sa story..if Frank had a hand in the script..bacn butangan nyag a pinch of batman: year one flavour..John adto ta ila mike ugma

I've visited those nonsensical threads and almost all threads here in iSTORYA.
I so get your drift.

I don't really have to explain why I said this

apparently you can if you've won the imaginary "most outstanding creative research" in the 2001 Filipino Invention Exposition.

I love pokemon !! you know, poking moni.. aww.. nevermind.

on penguin,

I don't know penguin as a character enough other than the adam west and danny de vito version. any good penguin comic out there I still don't think he's a good villian. I think I'd prefer two face, if there's a 3rd installment. or even catwoman... but no halle berry please...

Jason Aaron and Jason Pearson did an excellent Penguin one-shot last week.

Vemp enjoyed it.

Good comic. Won't win any Most Outstanding Creative Awards (whoops!), but it gets my vote anyway.
