@ares623, most of the guys work in the creative arts field. I'm stuck in a call center. So I draw when I can. But I try to draw at least on a daily basis.

@yuki8cute, how do you say your name? YUKI-EIGHT-CUTE? Anyways, my advise is don't be shy. If you're shy of showing what you can do, afraid of someone critiquing your work, you're missing a lot of stuff. The best way to check if you did the right thing is to let someone check it.

Santini's good at checking things out. Right, man? *wink*

Sure, preyonlove on deviantART is where I post some of my works.

I do drawing as a secondary source of income. I don't think I'll be leaving my day job for this...unless some really big opportunity comes knocking on my door. I just cater to small presses actually-- those with a circulation of probably no more than one street block in the US (snicker).

John's gunnin' for the Mother of all Opportunities. This kid will soon make his presence undeniably felt in the industry soon.

"Unleashed Hell, Johnny!"

Peace.

Hey, Santini, can't help but heap praises on your "Hush" drawing, man. It looks really good!

Peace.

Fight!
I ACCEPT THY CHALLENGE! I'll draw a Hellboy story based off an Irish folktale I read some time ago.

I'm currently plotting my six Thor pages. It will be him and some Asgardians vs frost giants. I will be working on 11x17. Crap. Wish me luck.

Vemp and I will not be meeting this Sunday. I'll use the weekend to draw. I think vemp has work.

I have work. And I'll be spending my free time fleshing out my Hellboy story, which I will also be doing in 11x17. That is if I don't get sucked into playing that Final Fantasy Tactics A2.

I'll be posting the progress in my workblog (http://aftercall.wordpress.com), though I did post a sketch I did using a different style, which I might use for the "comic".

Also, I recommend reading "Punisher: The End", it's a great "The End" story by Garth Ennish. And since it's Punisher, expect a lot of killing. Oh yeah.

P.S. I heard new Punisher movie is gay.

Show us your art, and we will criticize it. Or at least I will provide "constructive criticism". Warning though, if you can't take someone telling you truth, then don't bother posting it. But post it nevertheless.

Also, I hope as hell that I get paid to draw stuff, but unfortunately I don't. John, Santini, and the other guys do get paid for doing art stuff, but not comics. What I wish, and hope of achieving, is that I, along with my friends, get to work for one of the major comics publishers, or perhaps publish our own work either locally or internationally. This way, we will prove to other artists out there that with hard work, will, and determination, you can achieve your dreams! Do not despair, do not lose hope, do not think your art sucks (well, they do, but you can improve it!), do not wallow in disgust and cry in your sleep, and complain and whine and curse at the world as to why people who can't draw get to do the thing you love to do. Instead, step up, work hard, practice, practice, practice, learn, apply, learn some more, steal, try new things, and grow as a person and as an artist.

And then, victory shall be yours.

crap, I'm a bit drunk. got to go to bed.. whoooo...

@yuki8cute
i would suggest that you join the meetings. one good thing about these people? they would tell you the truth. straight in the face. i just hope you can take it. dont be like me, i started late, and im way behind these guys.

@all
i am currently finishing lay-outs for a local publication. its just 'diy/photocopy' type. and i am currently in need of comic pages. anybody who wants to contribute, pls pm me. the challenge would be to create a one shot story in just four pages. i was trying to do all the pages myself but i got tied with the other aspects of the project (meaning, i got lazy).

all the articles are already submitted, whats lacking are the one shot comics and the lay outs.

@Suede
You saying you need a four page script for you to draw? Or someone to make his own four-page story?

@yuki8cute
If you don't feel comfortable hanging out with the group (it's mostly guys), don't hesitate to post or link us to your art here. Never know, it might even be us learning from you.

@everybody
Finally did the thumbnails of my Thor pages. Vemp saw them yesterday. I was aiming to put some women in it, since Cebulski said I actually need to work on my female expressions, but the thumbnails as of now have no women. I'll see if I can somehow work one in still. What it does have is civilians, creatures, and a widescreen layout. So it's still good practice. More on that soon.
