@all:

I am sorry for being inactive. I am busy until April 20. I think April 15 would be a good date to catch up and gossip about why Lostsoul is still in Manila <snicker>.

I am still practicing how to draw head-shapes free hand using whole arm.

OT:

By the way, who has seen Pan\\\'s Labyrinth? It certainly is one of the best movies I have seen. IMHO, it is better than Eragon. The only scene I liked in the
latter was the fight scene between Eragon and the shade, otherwise most of the movie is derivative of other fantasy literature and movies.

@SUEDE:

Pan's Labyrinth via PC.

"kamingaw ba sa payag!"

IMHO, I think our club is losing its appeal. I was hoping the sketching and drawing sessions at Tapas Lounge would revive the excitement we
once felt when we started out. However, it seems inconvenient to find out when they'd have their next sessions unless you're a member of
their exclusive club or you consistently drop by every Wednesday evening. I wanted us to have our own private live nude sketching sessions that
we can control, e.g., short poses, but unfortunately, not all of us can afford it.

We also don't have professional comic book artists living in Cebu who have drawing <forgive the pun> power. If there are any, they aren't
advertising maybe because they (take your pick) a. drawing hentai and are ashamed of it, b. don't want to possible competitors,
c. don't give a rat's ass

And then there's reality. I remember HbH saying that SLICK! has discontinued their independent comics. Comics whether for fun or profit, are
just like movies. Without both substance and style, it's hard to get noticed. The look on people's faces when they see your work is enough to
depress Jollibee. Good enough doesn't cut it anymore. Differentiation and positioning are needed. That's why I'm confident about Weebong
making it big only if he really wants to. His work is different and he's not trying to change it. A true work of inner expression unfolded to reveal
who he is.

Anyway, we can still meet on the 15th just to catch up.

asus... cmontoya... everyone is just busy. dont worry too much.. hehe

I guess the reason why they didnt held a nude session at tapas... i think has something to do with holy week coming up. when you live in catholic country like pinas.. i guess that's how it is.

Hehehe, well, for SLICK!, the physical and emotional burdens of selling the copies by yourself and the miserliness of locals (which you once pointed out) mainly discouraged further publishing.

But it seems to me that substance and style are irrelevant in free stuff. Putting a price on anything these days just leaves a bad taste in the mouth, in our neck of the woods.

Peace.

@HbH:

I think SLICK! would be better off publishing web-comics . At National Mango, I saw "Attack of the Bacon Robots (Penny Arcade)" a
compilation of two years worth of strip from http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic .

I mean look at Bleedman. He's now famous . Just type 'bleedman' in Google.

I know his works are derivative but nevertheless ...
