@all:
I'll just meet you guys on Wednesday evening at Tapas Lounge (if I'm not tired from our week-long activity at the office). I suggest that you don't miss out on the free live nude sketching. I found some cool sketch pads at Metro Ayala (similar to vangogh's but way cheaper). I don't think it has a brand name but they're black and come in 3 sizes. It just says ART DRAWING SKETCH BOOK. I bought the smallest one so I can bring it with me anytime and just sketch anything. I'm sorry if I've been quiet this month - March and April are my section's busiest months (end of our FY). |

@zerk:
The price tag says, "Horizontal: Art." As for the small one, you have the option of two orientations: Portrait and landscape. I got the portrait. They're on the office supplies shelves near the female kids' stuff (bags, headbands, etc.). I suggest you get the medium or large size for our nude sketching. The medium size is 109.xx while the small one is 64.75. I didn't look at the price of the large one. He he, I'm lucky my boss and staff understand my hobby. They don't mind seeing my sketches. @vemp: I'll just meet you guys on Wednesday. I'll probably drink Pepsi max to give me 'fake' energy so I won't be sleepy during the sketching session. Seeing naked women no longer gives me the other kind of energy the way they used to. Ambot bai, mid-life crisis siguro ni. I did enjoy seeingdb's delight in sketching the nude, though. |

Thanks for the link. Very helpful. Life drawing doesn't even have to be literal in this day and age. In one of the PDFs, he said, "Never sit in front of the TV without a sketch pad on your lap.” Bitaw no? |

this is a bit OT, but i figured this would be the best place to post this question.
asa man ta ka-palit og mga books about drawing. I don't know a lot of specifics but i'm thinking of similar or somewhere in the line of: Andrew Loomis BRIDGMANS (Complete Guide to Drawing from Life) Burne Hogarth (Drawing the Human head) Eadweard Muybridge - The Human Figure In Motion Giovanni Civardi - Drawing Portraits Faces And Figures Jack Hamm - Drawing Scenery Seascapes And Landscapes Jack Hamm - Drawing The Head and Figure Kimon Nicolaides - The Natural Way to Draw Ron Tiner - Figure Drawing Without A Model Stanley Maltzman - Drawing Nature Sterling - Art of Drawing The Human Body mga books to use for reference lang gud. naa ko mga ebooks ana nila pero lisod kaayo basa through the monitor oi. i tried Nat'l bookstore sa SM og Ayala pero wala man.. any info is welcome. |

Yeah, it has a certain look and feel that don't say "Hey, I'm a sketchbook." It's a gem. Because it doesn't look like one, we can sketch in public without saying, "Hey, I'm sketching" and thus we're freer to sketch. Haven't tried it yet though as my week's a b!+<#. @ares623: All the books you've mentioned can be found <preposition - located at or attached to> + <nound - A mark that is long relative to its width>. Sorry I can't be more specific than that because encouraging people to act like "Jack Sparrow" is a no-no here. I hope you understand but if you show up on Wednesday at Tapas Lounge, I'll gve you the see-d that I was supposed to give to another person (no-show in later meetings) that contains all (or most) of the "A compilation of the known facts regarding drawing." Just ask who Carlo Montoya is but you won't miss me. If you see one of the sketchers drooling pools of saliva, that would be zerk. I'm the saintly person beside him. |
