You are welcome. Yes, the SP DVD is insightful. Most newbies like me would like to start with details (e.g., textures) but this is a mistake. What is important is to capture the pose correctly in terms of size and proportion, then volume, only then should we think about details. <wapak forehead>. Btw, the tutor told me what you have been telling me all along: I need to sketch loosely. I promised myself I will do so starting today - bahala na - I must unlearn what I have learned < line stolen from Yoda-sama>. @HbH: If you have finished the vid, Stephen plans to ink the finished pencils next in a new instructional vid. |

@HbH:
I don't know exactly when but Stephen Platt himself said in http://www.drawingboard.org/search.p...&d=1149825600& "I'm doing a series on comic book pencilling with Gnomon Workshop. 4 discs are scheduled. 1 COMIC BOOK PENCILLING - STEPHEN PLATT 2 COMIC BOOK INKING - JOE WEEMS 3 COMIC BOOK COLORING - LIQUID ..." |

@SUEDE:
As far as I know, Junpei was the only one who finished his assignment. I didn't because I'm not good with faces. You're welcome. I'll collect the YouTube Comic Book Greats next. |

@Junpei:
I KeepVided Stan Lee's Comic Book Greats featuring Jim Lee. Watching him work reminded me that we already know what we're supposed to be doing. He does gesture, he skips the spheres, cubes, and cylinders (but he's mentally thinking about them), he sketches, then he details. Heck, he doesn't even know the names of the muscles. He said it's not that important, what is important is knowing their shapes and how they change as people move. I'm <beeping> Iron Man Magazine: Critical Mass Bodybuilding Beginner and Intermediate for reference (ay macho). The dee-bee-dee includes *Critical Arms: Get a shocking set of biceps, triceps and forearms fast! Let POF turn your guns into cannons! *Critical Chest & Delts: Get maximum fiber recruitment from as few sets as possible -- 4 to 6 per bodypart -- for rapid development. *Critical Legs & Back: Build legs like powerful pillars and a big, broad back with POF. Features Paul "Quadzilla" DeMayo." |
