i just download the Ubuntu and kanoppix OS that is an open source and both are live CD so i tried to venture linux interface even without installing my PC... so just like to ask some experts in LINUX which is better... Hope someday that there will be a lot softwares will compatible to linux...

Ubuntu. With much better professional support and larger user-base.
Kanoppix is NOT a very known distro. The popular are knoppix and kanotix, and. are also based on debian-unstable release and KDE as GUI. Ubuntu is using gnome. If you like KDE you could try kubuntu to have similar GUI interface as knoppix/kanotix. Right now, a lot of linux softwares/applications have equivalents in Windows platform except for gaming. But you could run a virtual machine using XEN in linux to boot Windows inside linux. Or WINE to run directly the app directly but not all apps are compatible right now. |
