If you like to change the M$ OS. Try using first Linux which has more user support than the Solaris 10

I agree w/ eax, try linux, Solaris is predominantly used for testing IC's of different application
but less support on commercial pc games.

@sheka:

Waaaaaaaa. I bet you're not gonna like Solaris too.

You're asking if it's user friendly? One word - No.

different strokes for different folks
if you know linux and getting the jist on unix then you'll probably won't have probs with solaris. it's opensource so its' gotta be good (both for the pocket and developers)

Kung seryoso jud ka maka kat-on.........dapat mag install jud ka.........Solaris is one of the most popular unix operating system and one of the most expensive before, karon gi libre na..........

So worth it ra sad kung naa kay makat onan bahin ana.....

so don't expect ug nindot nga graphics support ug point and click user interfaces.........in short, kanang unix os, dili na pang duwa duwa....pang seryoso na nga applications........

I'm currently using Suse Linux 10 as a database server and so far it has been working fine, but I'm planning to try Solaris 10 because I'm a Java programmer and both Solaris and Java are from Sun, so Java is expected to run more efficiently under Solaris. I am replacing Windows workstations with Linux too, Good thing Java is multi platform so transition to other OS will be simpler.
