Default Ubuntu/Linux Server Partition Scheme Suggestion

Mga masters, can you give me a suggestion on creating an efficient partition scheme for linux. I'm currently in the process of learning about ubuntu server. Thanks in advance!

The disk is 500GB in size and what file system should I be using?
