yes, its very okay.

i have tried it for around 2-3 months in a kiosk of around 21 units.

i was amused he clients love the environment of Linux.

there were also games that support linux so installed also..

sometimes, you have to guide the clients though i find linux quite user friendly environment now compared before. in other words, the environment is easy to understand for usual usage.

Will the advantages of using Linux in icafe outweigh the disadvantages? I wish everyone will use Linux in icafe.

You can borrow or ship-it the ubuntu installer.

If your cafe is caters no on gamers only like web, emails, print and chatting Linux will be your best friend, specially Ubuntu 7.10.

Dunno a cafe timer for it though, but manual always works

Clients don't need to be Linux-savvy to be able to use Linux. It really takes only a little assistance at the start to get them going as the desktop is similar to Windows.

The only drawback in using Linux for cafes is that the popular games in Windows won't run in Linux and if it does, only after much tinkering.
