In a business perspective lang, you're customers won't stick long to your cafe if you will realize it.

Fortunately Linux does not behave well like Windows...
Mas prefered ang mob karon og Windows because of it's stability, performance and supports...

And what if muabot ang time nga makita na sa mga developers sa Linux nga mas gusto ang mga tawo og OS nga pareha sa Windows then without knowing, the developers would be force to make their particular products to become like Windows

Unfortunately, linux is becomming 1/4 as windows

Linus Benedict Torvalds might say something that the people did not expected to hear.

Just a point of view, rather an opinion...
You seem to imply that Windows has better stability and performance than Linux. I respectfully disagree. As a long time user of both Linux and Windows (95, 98, XP, Vista) there is now way Windows can compare to Linux's stability and performance. Virus pa lang daan...I need not elaborate further. Kana lang una'y akong masulti ana nga issue.

Secondly, many linux distros mimic Windows interface, to simply make the transition from Windows to Linux easier. Linux developers are fully aware of that fact. Pero ug moadvance na imo skills, naa pod kay choice kung gusto ka ug entirely different nga interface like E17 and Fluxbox. Mao na'y nindot sa Linux daghan ka'g choices.

Lastly, the biggest problem in using Linux for internet cafe, aside from games, is Yahoo Messenger. Although Gyachi ang Gizmo5 does the job well, clients are taken aback by the interface. Unfortunately, Pinoys are YM-crazy.

Yes, I might say that Linux is the best in stability, performance and support but only for us who knows how to use linux... Pero ang problema man gud bisag asa ka mulingi windows man gud ang mga tawo. If mag linux cafe man ka, then kinahanglan isibya jud nimug pamaayo sa kadaghanan nga "Ang akong icafe kay linux ang gapadagan". Then many istoryans will come to your cafe, but what if other users lang wa maanad og linux. Di jud sila mo prefer og ing-ana, kay di man sila kabalo. Easy for you to say ok ra xa sa cafe, pero mas labaw ang cons kaysa pros. Lugi gusyo dayon! Sayang hunan!

i suggest PCLinuxOS for icafes. PCLinuxOS

good interface for M$ Windows users.
good choice of pre-installed applications:
OpenOffice
Firefox
Kopete for all-in-one IM (with webcam support)
Synaptic Package Manager (for installing and unistalling applications) -- Use this to install WINE

nindot sad ang community support and documentation, naa gyud available solutions for known problems.

yes, PCLinuxOS is good for net cafe.. not really confusing for windows users.

in linux, one major thing you should mind of is the drivers. if that linux distro has automatic driver installations for your proc, chipset, sata, sound, graphics, ethernet, and etc.

Amen to that!!!

Understanding Linux OSes requires alot of "reading"...
thats why Linux Developers took time to document their project and post solutions/HowTos to help users overcome and understand their problems.

i think Linux has a good future in internet Cafe's and for government use... Performance wise, maka-save ka kay you can have a Vista like interface using a Pentium 3 lng na unit without the bugs... Stability wise, well no question about that... Sa Cafe and sa government offices wherein bisan kinsa lng mogamit, dili nka manginahanglan ug Deep Freeze... You won't have to worry about viruses and worms... you don't have to scan each USB Flash drive nga imo isaksak kung naa bay worm nga dili ra gihapon ma-detect sa imong anti-virus kay bag-o man... You don't have to pay 5,000 or more pra lng sa isa ka license sa MS Office... Mka-chat man sad ka Yahoo-style using Kopete or Pidgin mas nindot pa gani kay tanan nimo messaging account kay mausa ra nimo ug organize, dili na lahi2x ka ug open pa... Sa games, well daghan pod games for Linux nga 3D, and with Cedega around, you can install most of the 3D Games na maduwa nimo... For specialized windows programs na dili modagan using Wine lng, aw naa sad ang Crossover for linux... And if ang problema nato is ang users, well, mag-unsa man d i ang mga mogamit ug internet cafe? kasagaran mag-type, mag-chat, magprint, mag-surf and magduwa ra man... All are chicken ra kaau ma-handle sa Linux... wala man sad tingaliy user nga mag-install ug OS, mag-install ug special devices nga kinahanglan ug extinct nga driver, mag-tweak sa system or unsa pa diha... In addition to that, para sa mga computer science students, mka-compile pa jud sila sa ilang projects with the built-in compiler sa Linux... Ako personally, uyon kaau ko nga i-promote ang Linux for internet cafe and sa government.. in fact, im planning to build a cafe using Linux sa mga units.... Microsoft has become the oil company controlling most of the market in computer technology in our country... it has established a Dictatorship in the computer world here in the Philippines... im not etirely anti-Microsoft, but i think it's time for people realize the need for check and balance with a better alternative to the Windows Operating systems.... naa ra ninyo if mo-agree mo or dili...

Nindot kaayo imo gipangsulti, Bro. Kun daghan nang mogamit ug Linux, madasig na pod mga software company mo-port sa ilang applications sa Linux. If that happens, mosamot ka bibo ang Linux bandwagon.
