I think the government of Cebu should pursue this dream of independence. A lot of investors are turned off when they hear the name Philippines. There could have been a lot of investors in Cebu had it not been under that government run by greedy Tagalogs.
I am aware that the constitution does not allow a province to secede. But are there exceptions wherein a province can secede? Is an uprising the only option for independence? I want a more peaceful process, though, to achieve independence.
I may earn enemies for saying this but is it also possible that Cebu will be a commonwealth under the US just like Puerto Rico, Guam & Northern Marianas?
