The event this year carries the theme, “Cebu: e-merging Island of Innovation”. For the first time in weeks, the summer sun shone bright above and as the golden sun set the dj, percussions and drumbeaters of Tribo Manila took to the stage behind the definitive Havaianas sand sculpture to set the mood. Noted luminaries from the fashion, media and young A-list crowd all looked gorgeous and dashing in stylish white as they were ushered in under a canopy of stars amidst the festive music and a backdrop of colorful visuals projecting seashores. The venue was fashioned after a big white cabana with flowing white drapes and paper lanterns and guests lounged in chic furniture especially brought in for the occasion by Detalia Aurora.

To complement the visually arresting interiors, an exclusive menu of gastronomic delights was developed by Formo’s Kristine dela Riva-Kokseng and consultant chef Lor Torres just for the event.  Guests’ palates were treated to a burst of flavors from coconut-coated calamares with mango dressing, baked baby tomato stuffed with sweet spicy chorizo and cheese topped with pesto, asparagus wrapped with grilled eggplant drizzled with sour cream, garlic shrimp crostinis and potato crisps.

Another exclusive, the Havaianas’ trademark tropical cocktails for the evening—luscious Lychee and Mango Mojitos flowed as freely as the conversations that night and to add to the whole summer vibe, an awe-inspiring Copoiera demonstration from the group of Asia Pacific Capoeira Champion Jensen Go Chow and two capoeira masters from Rio de Janeiro entertained revelers along with fire poi dancers.
